Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her real title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012, with the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self released single Bound. On 21st of July 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21 2016 the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening act. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then on November 13 two new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by a music video on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
